Good to know
What they mean
Orchids are conventionally associated with refinement, strength, lasting regard. These are cultural conventions rather than fixed rules, and they differ by colour and by country.
When they are at their best
Peak months in the northern hemisphere are January, February, March, April, October, November, December. Seasonal stems are stronger, last longer and cost less than out-of-season imports.
How to make them last
Expect roughly 45 days from a fresh stem.
- Water sparingly — roots rot in standing water
- Bright indirect light, never direct sun
- Blooms can last six weeks or longer indoors
Common questions
What do orchids symbolise?
refinement, strength, lasting regard. Meanings vary by culture and by colour, so the association is conventional rather than universal.
How long do orchids last in a vase?
Around 45 days from a fresh stem. A cool room, clean water and a re-cut every couple of days makes a bigger difference than any additive.
When are orchids in season?
Peak months in the northern hemisphere are January, February, March, April, October, November, December. Outside those months they are still available, but stems are shorter and prices higher.
What colours do orchids come in?
Commonly white, pink, purple, yellow. Availability of a specific colour depends on the season and on what the florist can source that day.
How do I send flowers to another city or country?
Choose an arrangement, pick the delivery city and date, add your card message and check out. We confirm the order with you on WhatsApp, send a secure payment link, and arrange it with an independent florist in another city or country, who makes it by hand and delivers it in person.
Can I add a personal message?
Yes, free of charge. The florist writes your message out by hand, exactly as you type it, in any language.
What if the flowers arrive damaged or wilted?
Tell us with a photo and we will have them remade or refund you. That is our freshness guarantee — see Refunds & complaints for the details.
Will the bouquet look exactly like the picture?
Very close. If a stem is unavailable on the day, the florist substitutes one of equal or greater value in the same colours, and never replaces the flower you chose the arrangement for.
